Zille paid for radio coverage

DA leader and Western Cape premier Helen Zille has revealed that during her tenure as mayor of Cape Town her administration paid radio station Heart FM to air a monthly programme. Zille contended that the show was in no way a political-party mouthpiece, and was a platform for listeners to call in and express their views on service-delivery. However, the story has broken just a week after the DA lambasted the SABC for approaching the Western Cape provincial government with a "cash for news" deal.
