Spendthrift government forks out R1.5bn for luxury items

Since it's inception, President Jacob Zuma's government has spent R1.5 billion on luxuries including expensive cars, five-star hotel stays, sports tickets, parties and "self-congratulatory" advertising, the DA said on Thursday at the release of its Wasteful Expenditure Monitor. The worst offenders are the Department of Public Works and the KwaZulu-Natal provincial government.  Read more: M&G
