US prisoner in North Korea attempts suicide

Aijalon Mahli Gomes, the US citizen sentenced to eight years in a North Korean labour camp after entering that country illegally, has tried to kill himself. He is currently recovering in hospital, according to a state-run news agency. Read more: The New York Times
