Google to cover extra tax for gay couples

On Thursday Google announced that it will stump up for an extra cost that gay and lesbian workers currently incur if their partners receive domestic partner health benefits. This is to make benefits fair across the board, as heterosexual married couples are not hit with the same tax. The decision will apply retroactively from 1 January 2010. Read more: New York Times
