DA councillor fired for skimming the poor

A DA Councillor has been fired after the local government MEC accepted the Cape Town City Council's finding that she had defrauded poor people. Charlotte Tabisher got her marching orders amidst a police investigation into her fraudulent behaviour. A disciplinary committee found that she was guilty of illicitly collecting bribes upward of R300 from poor people who were desperate to be included in a state-subsidised housing project.
