Federal government to file suit against Arizona law

The Obama administration will attempt to block the controversial Arizona immigration law, which gives local police greater power regarding spot checks and aims at departing more illegal immigrants. It is risky for the Federal government to interfere in state matters to the extent of filing a lawsuit, but the move was widely expected after US President Barack Obama and other senior officials expressed their opposition to the law.  Read more: New York Times
