BP rebrands as 'burning petroleum'

BP has started to burn oil siphoned off from the ruptured oil well in the Gulf of Mexico. By Wednesday afternoon the company said it had burnt 52,500 gallons of oil, using a "specialised flare device". Burning the oil is part of BP's wider strategy of containing the spill, as a relief well will only be completed in August. Read more: AP
